Gage Lies About Jersey Girl Endorsement

No particular surprise here:

We're proud to have the endorsement of The Jersey Girls, who single handedly forced the Bush Administration to convene the 9/11 Commission after one year of inaction following the attacks of September 11.

We are pleased that Patty and Lorie have signed our petition. We have also received signatures from Josef Princiotta, Manny Badillo, Bob McIlvaine, Ellen Mariani. Let us know if there are any of them we are not listing here!

Manny Badillo and Bob McIlvaine are Jersey Girls? Who knew? And of course Patty (Casazza) and Lorie (Van Auken) are only two of the original Jersey Girls (a third, Mindy Kleinberg also endorsed Gage's group, although she apparently did not sign the petition). Where's Kristen Breitweiser, the most famous of the JGs?

Agreeing with Our Rebunkers

Over at the inaptly named 9-11 Debunkers blog, we get slapped down a bit for laughing at Steven Jones' speculation that the Haiti quake was created by the New World Order.

Haiti? A false flag? What kind of crazy person would think that?! A drill goes live and a bunch of mass murdering war criminals and celebrity whores beg the public to donate money to support the militarization of an oil rich island. Nothing suspicious there! I haven't seen such a sickening display of vampiric exploitation since Michael Jackson's funeral. And if they could blow up skyscrapers with nanotechnology back in 2001, the idea of them being able to create earthquakes in 2010 isn't much of a stretch. Hell, there's a publicly available US Air Force document that seriously discusses the prospect of teleportation! This is what's out in the open. Imagine the black projects going on in the ultra secret underground laboratories!

Now that's a bunch of crazy talk of course. I assume that the teleportation document is thoroughly speculative, and "Beam me up, Scotty," will not be practical at any point in the near future. Note as well that the "false flag" bit is rather amusing; the false flag for the Haiti earthquake is, well, Mother Nature.

But I do have to agree with them on this point:
...if they could blow up skyscrapers with nanotechnology back in 2001, the idea of them being able to create earthquakes in 2010 isn't much of a stretch.

Yep, both of those seem equally practical. BTW, note that like most "Truth" sites, they don't care for free speech:
I spend far too much time spelling out for people what I have already spelled out hundreds of times. Comments are now closed.

Sibel Edmonds Makes Hustler

No scratch 'n' sniff centerfold, but in the "news" part of the magazine. It's written by Brad Friedman, and if I'd realized he was this dishonest, I would never have returned his phone call a few years ago.

For instance:

“Absolutely, she’s credible,” Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told CBS’s 60 Minutes when he was asked about her in 2002. “The reason I feel she’s very credible is because people within the FBI have corroborated a lot of her story.” Edmonds’s remarkable allegations of bribery, blackmail, infiltration of the U.S. government and the theft of nuclear secrets by foreign allies and enemies alike rocked the Bush Administration. In fact, Bush and company actually prevented Edmonds from telling the American people what she knew—up until now.

But of course what Grassley was talking about back then was not bribery, blackmail, infiltration of the US government and theft of nuclear secrets by foreign allies and enemies alike. It was petty bureaucratic fief-building by a superior who told her to go slow on translating documents so that more people would be hired in her division. But eight years later, Friedman recycles the quote to make it seem like Republicans still believe her increasingly bizarre and unlikely tales.

There's some very weird language in the piece; sounds like the lawyers were heavily involved in the rewriting. Consider this:

Former Congressman Bob Livingston (RLouisiana), who was set to become Speaker prior to Hastert until evidence of a sexual affair was revealed by Larry Flynt, was described in Edmonds’s deposition as having participated in “not very legal activities on behalf of foreign interests” before leaving office in 1999.

What the hell does "not very legal" mean? I presume it doesn't mean "very illegal".

Darwin Was Wrong

Normally you would except some sort of social movement to improve with age, in a form of social Darwinism where the idiotic parts drop off and the more reasonable aspects survive and become dominant. Not so with trooferism though, there is nothing too idiotic to continue to be promoted by someone. Take for instance this OpEd from Salem-News. Keep in mind that this isn't by some 14 year-old who just watched Loose Change for the first time, this guy has been writing on 9/11 conspiracy stuff since at least 2006, and described himself as "a former U.S. Marine with twenty years of experience on the west coast as a television news producer, photojournalist, reporter and assignment editor".

Some lowlights:

This is curious, I would suggest that half of all living Americans still don't realize that a third building also came down that day, and it wasn't hit by an airplane. But it did contain a lot of records that certain members of the financial industry didn't miss. Then there are the billions of dollars in missing gold evacuated just before Building 7 pancaked to the ground.

Sweet jeebus! Even the Loose Change guys, hardly sticklers for in-depth research gave up this Die Hard 3 scenario about half a dozen versions ago, and even that was for the twin towers, not for building 7.

Then he goes beyond the merely idiotic into the patently offensive.

Jet fuel is similar to diesel and it doesn't burn very hot. Firefighters, talking on radios, talked about how the aircraft crash fire in one building were going to easily be extinguisher [sic] by a few firefighters.

The idea that fires burning over half a dozen floors of one of the largest skyscrapers in the world could be put out by a few firefighters is completely idiotic. If so why did the FDNY lose over 300 firefighters in the collapse? The others were there just because they had nothing better to do? I am assuming this is another bastardization of the famous quote mining of a firefighter referring to a single floor that he had observed, not the entire building.

Then he misrepesents 9/11 commissioner John Farmer:

There is a long list of federal investigators who say they were not allowed to do their jobs or complete the investigation. Tie this to the revelations in 9/11 Commissioner John Farmer’s book: “The Ground Truth: The Story Behind America’s Defense on 9/11″, where the author builds the inescapably convincing case that the official version is almost entirely untrue, according to our writer Gordon Duff, and you just might be lifting a corner of the dirtiest rug that ever was used to suppress truth.

Except Farmer does not actually believe this. As Pat pointed out earlier:

John Farmer- Well, let me just say that I think the [9-11 Commission] report is, uh, extremely accurate, and- and sets forth the facts of 9/11. And we actually did point out in the report the discrepancies between the accounts that were given and what we actually found.

Hell Hath No Fury

Like a Troofer scorned. Debra Medina, who was surging in the GOP primary for Texas governor until she flunked her 9-11 Truthiness test on the Glenn Beck program, is now distancing herself from the kooks and as a result the bleeding has stopped (Rasmussen shows her with 16% of the vote, down from 24% before the Beck appearance). But the Trooftards are mighty pissed that she's thrown them under the bus.

Is Sarah Palin a Truther?

Alex Jones is pushing this video which claims she is:

Note that most of the video is old gravel-voice exhorting the troops to spread this far and wide; the actual scene with Mrs Palin doesn't come until about 9:30 into the video.

My take? Palin doesn't cover herself in glory by any means. On the other hand, the way the question is posed makes it awkward: "Do you support the victims, family members and first responders of 9-11 that are calling for a new investigation?" You could argue that she's answering the first part of the question more than the second part, except that when she elaborates on the "never again" issue it does sound more like she's talking about a new investigation. I give her a barely passing grade simply because the type of "new investigation" isn't spelled out. Call it a C-.

Note in particular that despite Jones' efforts to blur the line, this hardly forgives Debra Medina, or makes Palin more of a Truther than Medina. Remember, the question that Medina was asked was:

"Do you believe the government was in any way involved in the bringing down of the World Trade Centers on 9/11?"

And the answer she gave was:

"I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard. There are some very good arguments, and I think the American people have not seen all of the evidence there, so I have not taken a position on that."

There's no comparison between Medina and Palin. Palin gave a poorly considered answer. Medina gave a crackpot one.

Steven Jones on the "Fake" Haitian Crisis

I mentioned this before, and I believe there is more, but I can't find a recording of it, but here is the clip of him bringing up Haiti from the recent AE911 pressless press conference:

A & E for 9/11 Truth Press Conference End from MysterE Productions on Vimeo.

Another one that you might never have thought of, that I will be addressing this next little while is Haiti. Now Haiti you wouldn't think of as a generated crisis. But did you know that tremendous oil reserves have been found in the bay, in that area right around Port-au-Prince. Tremendous oil reserves reported in 2008 to be larger than the oil reserves of Venezuela, which is one of the largest oil producers in the world. So again is this a "natural" or "real" crisis or is it one of Biden's generated crises? That's what I will be talking about the next hour. I don't have an answer for sure on that yet.

If there were still any doubts that the so-called leading scientist of the 9/11 truth movement was a complete crackpot, this pretty much erases it.

Washington Times Bites on Gage's Gaggle

A typically lousy piece of "press release journalism" by Jennifer Harper.

There is also evidence of "advanced explosive nano-thermitic composite material found in the World Trade Center dust," Mr. Gage says. The group's petition at www. ae911truth.org is already on its way to members of Congress.

"Government officials will be notified that 'Misprision of Treason,' U.S. Code 18 (Sec. 2382), is a serious federal offense, which requires those with evidence of treason to act," Mr. Gage says. "The implications are enormous and may have profound impact on the forthcoming Khalid Shaikh Mohammed trial."

The Quiet Juggernaut

AE911Truth held their series of 47 press conferences yesterday, but apparently the press failed to show up. From searching Google news it appears they actually managed to make it into 1 actual newspaper, thus giving them a less then impressive ratio of .02 members of the press per event.

Gage promised the announcement of some new breakthrough for the troof on Kevin Barrett's radio show last week, but it must not be too exciting as there is not a word of this on their website, nor any other that I can find. I haven't seen any video of the event, but the biggest news, as far as the nutters on 911 Blogger are reporting it is that Steven Jones is now into researching "man made earthquakes" and "weather modification", which should come as no surprise as he announced his interest in chemtrails last year. Good thing they have serious science on their side.

FBI: Anthrax Case Closed

Not that the Troofers will cease yammering about it:

The investigation included more than 10,000 interviews on six continents, the report said, and F.B.I. investigators conducted preliminary investigations of 1,024 people and “in-depth investigations” of more than 400 people, examining those with possible financial motives, links to the drug and pesticide industries or a history of corresponding with the lawmakers targeted by the mailings.

In response to requests under the Freedom of Information Act, the bureau also posted on the Web more than 2,700 pages of interview notes and investigative documents to bolster its case.

Dr. Ivins, a microbiologist who had worked with anthrax for decades as part of the vaccine program at the Army’s biodefense laboratory at Fort Detrick, Md., took a fatal overdose of Tylenol in July 2008 at the age of 62, after months of intense scrutiny by the F.B.I., which had placed a GPS device on his car, examined his trash and questioned his wife and two children.

They discovered his penchant for taking long drives at night, sometimes mailing letters and packages from distant spots under assumed names. They discovered his obsession with a sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and with images of blindfolded women, hundreds of which were found on his computer, the report says.

Read it all. Sounds like a real crazy person.

As Usual

The real hilarity is in the comments. An editor at OpEd News takes on the conspiracy nuts:

Contributors to OEN include a number of prolific writers who advocate for conspiracy theories of all sorts including: 9-11 false flag theory, UFO's are real, JFK was killed by the CIA, Obama isn't a native US citizen, and many many more. On the one hand editors wish to be open and not pre-judge these writers, but at the same time, we want to be discriminating and publish work that is intellectually honest and is not misleading or propaganda veiled as news and opinion. We want OEN to be credible.

I like his point about unfalsifiable beliefs. But read the comments for a chuckle or two:

When you say 2+2=5 and a "truther" says otherwise, there's no room for debate. If Sunstein can tell me how the laws of physics were broken at least 5 times that day, not to mention any other evidence, I'm all ears.

Of course the CIA killed JFK.

We have the video of the driver of the car turning around and shooting Kennedy, which has been covered up all these years.

For matters of physical science, however, from which the steel girders supporting the World Trade Towers evolved, as did the entire design through mathematical calculation, does it matter to you (and the very intellectual, academic Mr. Sunstein), that more than 1000 independent engineers have challenged the 30 government employed NIST engineers on their unprecedented "fire and pancake" theory of collapse?

So now Gage has 1000 engineers?

It's a False Flag!!

I should not be surprised, but it was only a matter of minutes before the truthers started spinning the incident in Austin today. Given that that is the home of Alex Jones, I am sure one could come up with creative theories implicating the large one himself. From his Infowars website though:

“According to a federal official, the crash was intentional, and the pilot, Joseph Andrew Stack, had set fire to his own house before stealing a Cirrus SR22 single-engine plane from Georgetown Municipal Airport and crashing it into the Echelon Building,” reports Jordan Yerman for NowPublic.

Readers of Infowars.com have posted a link to the following anti-government screed, written by Mr. Stack. It increasingly looks like the Austin plane crash is a false flag attack.

A Couple of D-Minuses

Yes, Congressman Jason Chafetz is probably just being a politician in dealing with the WAC-jobs, but he humors them a bit too much for my tastes.

I have similar issues with this coverage of the Ontario Truth Nuts:

“Those thousands and thousands of tonnes of concrete and steel had to get out of the way virtually instantaneously as if they provided no resistance to the collapse,” he said. “It defies physics, it defies our scientific understanding of how things collapse.”

Pieces of building, including tonnes of steel, glass and concrete, were thrown out of the building, travelling 60 miles per hour and imbedding in buildings 600 feet away. If the buildings did collapse due to fire, Bondi questions why that happened. Molten metal was found in the rubble days after the attack, something that just doesn’t add up, he added.

Officially, the committee charged to investigate the collapse said the building “pancaked,” meaning the joints holding the floors in place buckled one after another due to the weight. But Bondi says that historically, no other buildings have ever collapsed in this manner.

“Ninety-thousand tonnes of metal decking is pulverized in mid-air ... that doesn’t make sense,” he said.

So now it's the metal decking that was pulverized?

Misprision Update

Heheh, turns out Don Meserlian, the famed "swimming pool engineer" has been busy:

On February 4th, 2010, 9/11 activist and forensics engineer Don Meserlian was brought into Municipal Court in Fairfield, New Jersey, on charges of “Harassment” of police chief Mark Deuer.

Better discussion of what happened here:

Meserlian was found guilty Thursday in Fairfield municipal court of telling the officer on a recorded phone line last October, at a point when his frustration boiled over, “I will kick your a**” and “I can beat you any time with one hand tied behind my back.”

“I asked him if that was a threat,” testified Capt. Mark Deuer, “He said, ‘No. That was a promise.’”

Judge Frank Pomaco, suspending the usual fine, ordered Meserlian to pay $39 in court costs and advised him to stop bothering local police since they don’t have jurisdiction to investigate the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

Islamists and Truthers Converge in Canada

A group of Islamists held a conference in Ontario, and who should show up, but the truthers.

In his speech, Mr. Bangash claimed the "Israeli-owned" International Consultants on Targeted Security runs security at Amsterdam airport, and therefore "the Israelis are in control of security," and they allowed the alleged underwear bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, to board a Detroit-bound plane.

The company, on its website, states it is "not connected in any way" to security at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

An Iranian propaganda video, set to inspirational music, was a rapid-fire montage of still photos and videos, with militaristic and industrial themes, including footage of scientists at work, and a diagram of atoms labelled U238, the common naturally occurring kind of uranium; and U235, the fissile kind used in bombs.

The female narrator spoke about Iran's free elections, equality of women, and its "successful approach to the nuclear issue."

The keynote speaker, given the absences, was Michael Keefer, a professor of literary theory at the University of Guelph, who said that all mainstream news media is "systematically fake" because "news editors have internalized the values of their advertisers." He described 9/11 as a "planned demolition" run by Americans, and the Toronto 18 bomb plot, which led to convictions and guilty pleas, as a "police frame-up" over "nothing of significance."

I suppose I shouldn't say "show up" since Keefer, a long time truther, was the keynote speaker. Maybe he can hang out with Kevin Barrett and share jihadist stories?

Charles Goyette, Engineer?

Was just watching this scroll of the 1000+ Clowns for 9-11 Troof and this one popped out at me:

Charles Goyette is a "Truther" radio personality in Phoenix; the name strikes me as too unusual for there to be two Charles Goyettes among the fruitcakes. So I'm calling BS on this one.

Do They Ever Get the Irony?

Richard Gage is on Kevin Barrett's radio show again (available here) complaining about how mean his critics are to him. From 33 minutes in:

Barrett: How have the people who have tried to uphold the official version of 9/11 responded to this. You have had a fair amount of time now Richard going around giving talks all over the country, and the world, and you have drawn huge audiences everywhere from here to New Zealand. You have drawn the flak of the so called debunkers, people who are rather desparately trying to uphold the official story. At one point we were trying to have some 9/11 debates, between those of us on our side and somebody on the other side, and we never could find anyone on the other side willing to participate in these debates. What is your sense of what kind of opposition we have, do they have any valid points or are they completely blowing smoke? Have they alerted you to any weaknesses in your argument?

Gage: Well what they do is obscure what we are saying with our associations, or manufactured associations and calling us names like conspiracy theorists. What they don't do is look at the evidence that we provide clearly, and provide rational explanations as to where it might be coming from if it is not from explosive controlled demolition.

First of all, the idea that there are no substantive objections to Gage is idiotic. This blog has made dozens of posts pointing out the weakness of his arguments, the number of threads on the JREF forum on Gage and his organization are beyond counting, and there is even a website entirely dedicated to the subject. I have been following this subject as closely as anyone, and I have never seen Gage address any of this criticism.

But perhaps more bizarrely, does Gage realize the irony of going on Kevin Barrett's radio show, which he has been on several times already, and complaining about being smeared through "manufactured associations"? Hello! This is the very same Kevin Barrett who has repeatedly called for the execution of people he disagrees with, who called the Holocaust a "destructive myth", who constantly rants that the Jews control the US press, and has openly promoted the violent overthrow of the US government. Could these idiots make it any easier for us?

Voodoo Histories

I picked up a copy of David Aaronovitch's Voodoo Histories, and skipped to the 9/11 section. While much of it is pretty good, I am a bit annoyed by the fact that the author references work by myself and other 9/11 debunkers on the Internet, but never actually credits us. In fact much of one section, including the title "The Structural Engineers with a Special Place in Hell" is taken from this blog.

He concludes the chapter with:

Depite the ambivalence, the website for the Scholars gave evidence of something approaching hyperactivity, as its leading members addressed meetings, wrote articles, did interviews, attended symposia, and organized conferences. But who, exactly, were they? What were they scholars of? A researcher following up on the names discovered that, as of late 2006, out of seventy-six named Scholars for Truth there were no Middle Eastern experts and only two engineers, one of whom thought the United States was plotting to bomb the planet Jupiter with antimatter weapons while the other devoted himself [sic] to studying the mechanics of dentistry. Nine (the largest number) were philosophers, five were English experts, five were psychologists, five were physicists, and four were theologians.

So who exactly is this unnamed researcher? Well from a May 25th, 2006 post of mine titled Who are the Scholars for 9/11 Truth? :

Out of the 76 "experts" the most common academic discipline was philosophy, with 9 members, including a co-founder. Since 7 members did not even list an academic discipline, this was 1/7 of their credentialed membership. English/literature and psychology came in next with 5 members each. Even theology and "humanities" came in with 4 and 3 members respectively. Among actual scientific fields, physics was way in front, with 5 members, including the aforementioned Dr. Jones. I am not sure as to their academic credentials though, at least one of the "physicists", Jeffrey Farrer, isn't even a professor, he is a lab manager at BYU. One has to wonder whether Steven Jones' janitor is also listed as an associate member?

So how many engineers do they have? Out of the 76, a grand total of 2. Jean-Pierre Petit, a French aeronautical engineer, who despite the obvious handicap of being French actually seems to have a relevant qualification. Curiously enough though, he doesn't seem to have written a single word on 9/11. He has written though, on a mysterious plot by the US military to bomb Jupiter with anti-matter weapons!

The second engineer is Judy Wood, who has been mentioned in the comments here for her bizarre billiard ball from the top of the World Trade Center theory. OK, Ms. Wood is an actual Mechanical Engineer at Clemson, but thus far her work has been primarily focused on the stresses of dentistry. A fascinating field no doubt, but hardly relevant to planes crashing into buildings.

So how many structural engineers are listed? Absolutely zero. How many experts in Middle Eastern studies, or the Arabic language? Also zero. But they do have a professor of social work!

Yes, I know in general journalists and researchers (truthers aside) are reluctant to cite blog posts in academic writing, but given that entire sections are based on our work, could you show a little love here?

Keith Olbermann Goes Truther

Not particularly a surprise, just wondering why it took him so long.

The attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 changed American politics forever. But in spite of the warning signs raised by the U.S. intelligence community, the Bush administration seemed preoccupied with other issues, aloof to the alleged threat until the day both towers fell.

Why then, MSNBC's liberal host Keith Olbermann asked on Friday night, is it "taboo" to blame the Bush administration for allowing the deaths of nearly 3,000 Americans on their watch?

His conclusion: For their lack of vigilance and because they "did not prioritize," President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney are to be faulted for the attacks.

Debra Medina: 9-11 Troofer for Texas Governor?

Medina claims here:
I was asked a question on the Glenn Beck show today regarding my thoughts on the so-called 9/11 truth movement. I have never been involved with the 9/11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way. No one can deny that the events on 9/11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones.

But this is plainly a dodge. She was not asked if Muslim terrorists flew planes into the buildings, she was asked about whether the government was involved in any way in bringing down the World Trade Center, and she did the Troofer dance about how there are a lot of legitimate questions.

More discussion here:
Oh well, I think she’s done. There’s no coming back from a blunder like this.

Ed Morrissey agrees:
If Medina believes that, then she hasn’t paid attention to the answers that have long been in the public domain. If she doesn’t, then she’s terribly inept at handling media interviews. Either way, Medina’s responsible for her answers and their implications, not Glenn Beck or anyone else. Any candidate who thinks that a nutcase conspiracy theory about the US government destroying the WTC is within the realm of reasonable speculation is a candidate that richly deserves the obscurity she will shortly enter.

She's got the Alex Jones endorsement:

Hat tip to restey9690 and NWO is bunk in the comments on the last post.

New 9/11 Photos Released

Responding to a FOIA request by ABC News the NIST has release several thousand photos 9/11 that they collected as part of their investigation. A few of them have been posted on the web.

Not surprisingly the nutters are now claiming that this is some sort of success for them. And here I thought the mainstream media was part of the coverup.

Wow, if that first photo isn't a "smoking gun"

Robin Hordon Commits Perjury

As a long time resident of the Puget Sound I am always especially annoyed by Robin Hordon, who insists he is an expert on the events of 9/11 based on the merits of having been an air traffic controller 30 years ago. Now he is getting even more bizarre though, with this long rambling "affidavit" filed to support April Gallop's quixotic lawsuit against Dick Cheney et al.

There is no way I am so bored as to actually try and dissasemble this whole thing, but one only needs to look at a single paragraph to see how bad his so called expertise is.

It is known that Chic Burlingame, the pilot of AA77, participated in a military analysis of the Pentagon’s defenses approximately one year before 9/11/2001, while on National Guard duty. That military analysis included a simulation involving a hijacked airliner used as an airborne bomb in an attack upon the Pentagon. This coincidence is suspicious, in my opinion.

Members of Burlingame’s family have also stated categorically that Burlingame, a large and powerfully-built man, would NEVER have voluntarily surrendered control of his aircraft to ANYONE, let alone hijackers wielding small box-cutter knives who are known to have been considerably smaller in build and shorter in height.

OK, well let's count the lies and poor logic. First of all, there is no evidence at all that CPT Burlingame ever participated in "a military analysis of the Pentagon's defenses". There was, it is true, a MASCAL exercise at the Pentagon, which involved a plane crashing into the Pentagon as part of the scenario, but there is nothing to show that it involved a hijacker airliner, as opposed to an accident, given there is a major international airport just next door. As the name indicates, a mass casualty exercise is not a defense exercise, but a triage and medical response exercise, and there is nothing to show that he played a significant role in it, or even participated at all, other than the fact that he, along with 24,000 of his closest friends happened to work there at the time. Furthermore, and this is a picky thing admittedly, but it shows how little effort they put into accuracy, but Burlingame was a Captain in the Navy, so unless they have suddenly created a Navy National Guard, it is doubtful he was serving there on National Guard duty.

The second paragraph is just insulting. He didn't voluntarily give up anything, he was under duress. Have they no respect for the victims?

The last I checked it was a felony to lie in a court document. I guess Hordon can use the fact that he is a f***ing moron as an excuse for perjury.

Update: In typical troofer fashion, the post to which I linked on 911 Blogger has been removed without explanation. Destroy the evidence.

Robin Hordon Sabotages April Gallop's Lawsuit

With the freakiest affidavit I've ever read.

I, Robin Dirk Hordon, declare, under the penalty of perjury:

That I am a former Air Traffic Controller [ATC] who worked at the Boston ARTCC [Air Route Traffic Control Center] located in Nashua, NH; and further, that I worked the specific airspace in which American Airlines flight Eleven [AA11] went off course and showed signs of an in-flight emergency before being considered a hijacked aircraft on September 11, 2001.

Note that he does not specify when he was an ATC; the answer is during the Carter and first Reagan Administration. Note as well the curious focus on AA11 in that opening paragraph. Do I have to mention that AA11 has nothing to do with the Pentagon attack, which is the focus of Gallop's lawsuit?

Hordon, like all "Truthers" uses alleged only when referring to non-controversial aspects of 9-11:

...an 85-88-minute delay in scrambling/intercept response for UA93 before its alleged crash (or its shootdown) in Shanksville, PA.

According to the U.S. Military and the FBI, the eastbound high-speed target eventually noticed by Danielle O’Brien as it entered her airspace at Dulles Tower-Potomac TRACON was AA77, based upon hard evidence allegedly found at the Pentagon crash site.

At any rate, with friends like these, April Gallop has no need for enemies

With Savvy Investigators Like These...

I was amused to see this post on 911 Blogger regarding a paper I wrote for the Journal of Debunking 911, over 3 years ago.

I found a new blog today, devoted to debunking 9/11 truth. It contains papers such as this one:

"There Are No Missile Defenses at the Pentagon JamesB"

Has anyone attempted to tear these guys a new orifice?

Nevermind that a collection of papers, most of which are over 3 years old hardly counts as a "new blog", apparently the quickest way to end the conversation is to actually ask the truthers to present their evidence on the subject, as one of them did:

Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the evidence on missiles defending the Pentagon?

Could you please refer me to what you would consider the best sources on this?

Over a day later, he finally got one response, the very same David Ray Griffin excerpts that I debunked in the paper.

If We've Lost Hal Sparks....

Who's next? Mo Rocca? I mean, this is Hal Sparks, best known for his Academy Award-winning performance as "Man in Elevator" in Spiderman 2.

I love that he leads with five (or is it seven) of the hijackers are still alive. Old "truth" lies never die; they just keep getting recycled.

Voodoo Histories

I just ordered a bunch of books from Amazon, I am going to have to add Voodoo Histories by David Aaronovitch to my order. The author gives a bit of a preview to it in Salon.

What, in your opinion, is the most implausible conspiracy theory to gain wide acceptance?

I think 9/11 is the most baroque. I can’t tell you what it feels like to see videos on YouTube of David Ray Griffin addressing people about it — one of America’s leading theologians expressing with absolute certainty the existence of a conspiracy so ludicrous it takes your breath away.

More Problems for the CIT-Heads: Paik Testimony

Sometimes the Troofers do good debunking, but only on the parts of the fantasy that they don't agree with personally.
There are problems with some elements of Shinki and Ed Paik’s accounts, but CIT has compounded these by omitting or distorting elements of Ed and Shinki’s accounts, while selectively interpreting and hyping other elements. CIT has a history of doing this, they’ve consistently done it in ways that support their theory about ‘north path’ and ‘Pentagon flyover’, and their doing so- while accusing their critics of being ‘agents’ and ‘disinformation’- has created controversy and undermined their own credibility.

Convicted Terrorist Channels Kevin Barrett

I was just amused how much this sounded like everyone's favorite failed college professor:

A U.S.-trained Pakistani scientist was convicted Wednesday of charges that she tried to kill Americans while detained in Afghanistan in 2008, shouting with a raised arm as jurors left the courtroom: "This is a verdict coming from Israel, not America."

A jury deliberated three days in federal court in Manhattan before finding Aafia Siddiqui guilty in the third week of her attempted murder trial, which she often interrupted with rambling courtroom outbursts.

After declaring the verdict came from Israel, she turned toward spectators in the packed courtroom and said: "Your anger should be directed where it belongs. I can testify to this and I have proof."

Krazy Kevin Barrett Goes Jihadi

Hang 'Em High now fantasizes about taking up arms against the US government:

Since the 9/11 inside job and the criminal wars of aggression it enabled, the ostensible US government has lost whatever shred of legitimacy it once possessed. Now that the Supreme Coup has made corporate money the supreme law of the land, and peace-prize warmonger Obama has revealed himself as a CIA/Wall Street fraud, US citizens could be forgiven if they decided that working within the system is no longer an option.

If Anwar al-Awlaki really has taken up arms against the rogue regime that has overthrown the Constitution of the United States of America, maybe the rest of us should follow his example.

Awlaki is the cleric who was in contact with both the Fort Hood shooter and the Christmas underpants bomber.

Sibel Edmonds, 9-11 Truther

Well, well. Brad Friedman assured me in a telephone conversation about a year and a half ago that Sibel was not a Troofer, but it looks like that no longer applies.

Alex Jones: So you wouldn't be surprised like many others, because of the evidence and the cover-up you've seen, if 9/11 was an inside job?

Sibel Edmonds: At this point, I'd have to say no, I wouldn't be surprised.

Alex Jones: Do you think the evidence is leaning towards that?

Sibel Edmonds: Well, again, considering the level of cover-up and the length at which they have gone to gag people and prevent information-- this information from coming out, I would say yes.

Hat Tip to Debunking the Debunkers. No matter how much John-Michael dances around the point, the fact is that Sibel lied to the 9-11 Commission about the contents of the Chicago Tribune article she cited in her letter.
